The Minneapolis Police Honor Guard was established in 1992 to represent the Minneapolis Police Department at funeral and memorial services.  The Minneapolis Police Honor Guard is comprised of full-time sworn Minneapolis Police police officers  who  come from a variety of city-wide  positions.  The members volunteer to present honor at:

  • Funeral services for retired officers
  • Funeral services for officers on active duty
  • Funeral services for officers killed in the line of duty

The Minneapolis Police Color Guard is comprised of full-time sworn Minneapolis Police police officers  who come from a variety of city-wide  positions.  Their mission is to present the colors at public ceremonies.

The Minneapolis Police Honor Guard and Color Guard Foundation was established in 2018 to support the Honor and Color Guards in the execution of their missions.
